The 9th FHS Charity Walkathon

Date: 15th December, 2014
Venue The Peak

More than 1,000 participants with and without disabilities joined our 9th FHS Charity Walkathon at the Peak on 15 December 2012. Participants included corporates, organizations, schools as well as the general public, service users and their parents, and volunteers.

Seminar on Risk Management and Safety

Date: 22nd September, 2012
Venue: The Hong Kong Polytechnic University


The “Risk Management and Safety Seminar” was successfully held on 22nd September 2012 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. There were 82 applicants and they were respectively come from different specialists in engineering. Every attended applicant got a 3-hour CPD certificate.

The seminar was jointly organized by “The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong”, “Hong Kong Association of Risk Management and Safety”, “Institution of Occupational Safety” and “Community & Construction Professionals' Development Centre”. “Shipping Research Center” of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was the sponsoring organization.

We invited Mr. YU shu-xi, the president of Guangzhou Safety Production Administration Association, to be the seminar speaker. Mr. YU works on improving safety production for a long time, he strives for implementing laws and policies in occupational safety and health. In 2011, Mr. YU was recommended to be the first Chinese honorary vice president of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (UK).  

In the seminar, Mr. YU talked about the safety production targets and the requests of Guangdong Province Government. He was not only explaining the reasons why the Guangdong Province Government carries out “One post, two responsibilities (一崗雙責)”, but also its meanings and purposes. He mentioned about the requests of corporate responsibilities in safety production, the measures of upgrading facilities of safety production protection and management quality.

New Territories Walk for Millions

Date: 19 February, 2012 
Venue: Hong Kong Science Park


The New Territories Walk for Millions organized by The Community Chest was held successfully on 19 February 2012. The 5.5 km walk started from Pak Shek Kok Promenade and finished at Tai Po Waterfront Park with a fine weather day.

Technical visit to Towngas

Date: 18th January, 2012
Venue: The Hong Kong & China Gas Company Limited

Proper utility management will reduce the chance of incidents related to them and hence save social cost in a way. Towngas has one the world’s best utility management system as well as training centre at its Headquarters at North Point.

To facilitate the understanding of good utility management and training system, a technical visit was arranged and aimed to help promote safety awareness and better utility management for civil works and maintenance works.
